I found Tailor and Stylist through Bridget from Tales of Me and the Husband. She has a post about this skirt and when I saw it I loved it. It’s so effortless and fabulous and comfy and chic! And in my efforts to expand my wardrobe and find new things that are different from my same-old-same-old I am excited to add this into the mix! Oh, and it’s super fun to twirl.

Thanks to Tailor and Stylist for such great clothing! My package came very quickly and there was a hand written thank you on my invoice! Pleased as punch.
It was about 50 degrees outside when we got up this morning! And it was a brisk 62 in the apartment! So I dug out my slippers (which my feet haven’t seen since early spring) and my good ol’ flannel shirt ,and threw on a cozy scarf. It was absolutely delightful to bundle up a little bit! And a let out an “eep!” when I walked outside and saw my breath! Pardon the slightly wonky iPhone-face-block photo, by the way. It was still early. But it was lovely!

I’m totally loving this striped maxi skirt! I have tried on a lot of maxi skirts and, because I am
vertically challenged fun-size, most of them are too long. Maxi dresses are even worse because I can’t adjust them to wear them at my waist like I can skirts. After searching high and low I finally found this gem on clearance from J.Crew! It’s super comfy, stretchy, soft, and machine wash/tumble dry. The best part (regarding my current workplace) is that I can sit criss-cross-applesauce (formerly known as “Indian Style”) and it doesn’t stretch it all out of whack! And I feel good when I wear it, which is one of the tip-top criteria for my clothing!
Skirt: J.Crew (no longer available)
Belt: Target skinny belt (hardly visible, I know)
I love my new shoes! I like to think of it as though I have thoroughly slept on this decision. They are seriously some of the most comfortable heels I have ever put on. And I have a wedding to wear them to in a couple of weeks! This is an investment considering how many heels I own, and the one pair I really love to wear has been worn into the ground.
It’s been a pretty crazy last few days. After arriving so late into Raleigh on Friday and heading straight back up here to work on Saturday. And then continuing to work every day since then … needless to say I’m pretty much exhausted. But I did manage to pull together something cute to wear on Sunday! Sundays at work are my day to wear something cute. Most of the other days of the week it seems less appealing to wear something cute because they are longer shifts and there are often many boxes to deal with. Lately Sundays have also been a great day to wear my boots! Plus I thought I would wear a new dress since I have been trying to wear more dresses. (Thanks to Scott for the photos!)
Tuesday, June 12, 2012: I’m thinking about starting an almost-weekly posting about things I wear. I’ve been trying to expand my wardrobe (while being on a major budget) and mix things up a little bit, so we’ll see what happens. As it is now, I tend toward a lot of jeans-and-a-t-shirt. Since it’s summer I’ll start by trying to branch out in the dress category. Here goes nothing!
