two for today

Wednesday, January 12, 2011: Today I have two photos. One is actually from today, and one is from a while ago.

Photo 1: Blizzard! Things you can’t see very well in this picture: long underwear and leggings underneath jeans, up to my knees in snow, and many layers up top as well! Things you can see in this picture: lots of snow (there’s over a foot of snow!!!) and a beautiful hat knit by Janet!

Photo 2: Grandpa. My grandpa, Donald Porter Mitchell, passed away last night. He passed peacefully in his sleep, which is exactly how he wanted to go. Things had been going downhill for several years, so it was far from unexpected. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Today is for celebrating a great life and recalling wonderful memories. Rest in peace Grandpa. I love you!
