Barefoot

Wednesday, February 29, 2012: It has come to my attention that I am embarrassingly out of shape. I’m telling you so I have another audience to keep me accountable. My new project is to get in shape! It’s going to be quite the project, that’s for sure. But I’m really excited! I’ve started the journey to barefoot running and it’s been awesome so far. Absolutely awesome. I’m sore in places I never knew existed and I’m getting stronger every day. I’m starting off with barefoot walking, with short bits of running mixed in. But walking at a good clip in barefoot shoes is strengthening slowly, which is exactly what I’m aiming for. As with any strengthening, it doesn’t just happen overnight. And I really don’t want to injure myself, so I’m taking it slow and listening to my body. I’m planning to do the Bele Chere 5K this summer!
